Tell us about yourself – what are you doing, where are you?
I live in Varna, Bulgaria. I am a marketing consultant of local authorities and non-governmental organizations in Europe. My job consists in the coordination and control of sociological studies in different fields; the planning of marketing campaigns; the evaluation of projects; the creation of promotional materials and much more. Among my clients are local authorities such as Madrid Municipality, Sofia Municipality and Varna Municipality, and international organizations such as the European Federation of Schools. I am also the Chair of the Board of GLOW Association and the Director of Leadership Academy GLOW.
What do you love about your job (studies)?
The best thing about my job that no day is like the other! This makes it exiting and interesting.
Walk us through your (work) day.
As I told you, my days are completely different from one another. In general they are long as I work about 10 to 12 hours per day. They are all a mixture of communication with clients and co-workers, working on documents, field visits, trainings, and planning. The only thing that unites them is my work for assuring the realization of the activities of GLOW Association throughout the year.
What “rules” do you live by?
Positive thinking is the key to everything!
What is the greatest thing about education?
The best thing about education is that it makes us understand that actually for everything there can be different explanations. So the only way to understand a phenomenon is to consult the existing theories, think about them and create your own. According to me the most important skills that the education tries to transmit is exactly the ability to think!
Who has inspired you in your life and why?
If I have to choose a person it would be my mother. She is inspiring with her firm belief that things can only get better if we make them so and that no one, besides us, can tell us where our limits are.
On the other hand, GLOW is the experience that changed my life! It made me more confident and more open. The people I met there, and that I keep on meeting, inspire me greatly as they are all extraordinary, and I am sure that many among the GLOW girls will leave a great mark in the history of the world.
What are you passionate about?
Travelling, cooking and of course GLOW.
Which experiences in life helped you become the person you are?
Of course, GLOW is the most important one. It helped me find my strengths, gave me courage to use them and helped me define my purpose in life. My studies in France, where I got my first bachelor’s degree, also helped me understand who I actually am and what I really want in life.
When things get tough, how do you keep yourself going?
I think of the positive things to come.
The things for which we should always find time are…? Why are they important?
Family, friends and your hobby /or whatever makes you happy/. We should always remember that our lifetime is limited, so we should find time to spend with our family and friends, and show them how much we care about them. We should also always find time to do whatever makes us happy!
What kind of books (or which) do you consider must read?
I don’t believe that such can be selected. Every person should read as many and as divers books as possible, so that she/he finds what the mind needs.
What has GLOW given you?
GLOW gave me confidence, amazing friends and the belief that the world can become a better a place!
Tell us something interesting that very few people know about you!
I have 4 university diplomas.
What is your advice for the young people?
Think before you act, study hard and enjoy every second!
